2.16 percent Economic growth expected in basic prices

KATHMANDU, May 29: Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that it is estimated that there will be a 2.16 percent economic growth in basic prices in the current fiscal year. Speaking during the Budget speech for the upcoming year, he said that economic growth will slow down due to the relaxation in the world economy.

Adding that the economic growth rate will be low due to the problems in the world market as well as internal problems, he further said that the price increase in this period of the current fiscal year is more than 7 percent and the price increase of imported goods is more.
