West Jajarkot locals demand law and order

Kathmandu - The government officials who are monitoring overall development works and law and order situation in the district have witnessed demand galore from the general public. The government monitors from local level chiefs to Chief District Officer said that they were surprised to see the nature of demands from the public in the district.

At a discussion held at Thala Bazar of Chhedagad municipality in Jajarkot-West, the locals have demanded the establishment of a police post, routine monitoring of market, prevention of illegal export and regular construction of roads. The general public also drew attention of the public authorities towards building a bridge over Mork rivulet which has been in limbo for over the years.

They also called for expansion of telephone service to the reach of entire population in the district. The Chhedagad mayor expressed worry that the extortion drive of the Netra Bikram Chand group has panicked the public in absence of police post. “They have collected donation from every plan, how can we work in this situation”, he said.

In response, CDO Chetraj Baral assured the mayor of taking initiative for the setup of a police post. The monitoring committee comprises CDO Baral, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kishor Shrestha, Armed Polcie DSP Achyut Majgaiya, National Investigation Department’s DSP Om Bahadur Khadka and Assistant Chief District Officer among others.
