Supply Minister to emerge tough on guilty ones

Kathmandu - Minister for Supplies Shiva Kumar Mandal has said he would take a proposal to the Cabinet to take punitive measures against those found guilty in the NOC land purchase scam. 

Speaking at a program organized by the Media Centre Nepal here Tuesday, Minister Mandal said the proposal to take action would be based on the recent investigation and recommendation of the parliamentary committee. 

He also informed that investigation was continuous on the industrialists and entrepreneurs fleecing consumers by indulging in black marketing. "Big industrialists involved in black marketing would be arrested within few days," the Minister revealed. 

On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Kedarnath Sharma said the monitoring of market would be conducted strictly in view of the coming festivals. Those imposing exorbitant price would not be spared, he underscored. 

Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police, Jay Bahadur Chand, also said those violating law would be brought to book and sued.
