CM Pokharel condoles Baglung road accident victims

Rupandehi–Chief Minister of State No 5 Shankar Pokharel, issuing a press statement here today, expressed his government's profound sorrow over the demise of those killed in a road accident in Baglung district on Tuesday.

A Jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5219) travelling to Nishikhola in Baglung from Gulmi district met with an accident at Bhimgithe in Baglung district, killing all 14 on the spot while one went missing and three others were critically injured in the incident.

CM Pokharel, in the condolence message, has extended his deep sorrow over the incident. Extending his condolences to the bereaved families and praying for the eternal peace of the departed souls, the CM has wished for the speedy recovery of the injured ones who were receiving treatment at the local health facility.

Furthermore, CM Pokharel urged the Badigaad area's locals to join the rescue efforts being carried out by the police at the site where the ill-fated jeep met with an accident.

He also voiced his concerns over the growing cases of road accidents in Nepal and reaffirmed, "The provincial government is sensitive towards reducing the road accidents."

Chief Minister Pokharel demanded a probe into the cause of the accident and drew the attention of all sides concerned not to let such accidents ever happen again.

Death toll climbs to 15 Meanwhile, the death toll from this accident has reached 15 with the discovery today of the body of 65-year-old Dhan Bahadur Karki, a resident of Ishma Rural Municipality-4, who had gone missing in the Badigadh stream following the accident on Tuesday.
