HoR passes condolence motion

Kathmandu–The House of Representatives meeting today passed a condolence proposal on the demise of former government minister and the member of the then Constituent Assembly, Dhaniram Poudel.

The meeting unanimously endorsed the condolence proposal presented by Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara. Poudel passed away at Madi, Chitwan this morning.

He was 53. He was elected a member of the Constituent Assembly towards the proportional quota from the then CPN (Maoist) in the election held in 2070 BS.

He was appointed the Minister for Education and was presently the central committee member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

Speaker Mahara also informed the House of Representatives that the discussions on various topics of the Appropriation Bill, 2076 related to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation scheduled for today, has been postponed for June 18.

The House of Representatives will next meet at 11 am on June 16.
