Over 800 households provided with relief materials

Rajbiraj - More than 800 flood-affected households in hardest-hit Maina Kaderi in Saptari district have been provided with relief packages by private organizations on Monday.

Digicon Consultant Pvt Ltd distributed the relief materials including beaten rice, biscuits, noodles and water, among others to some 600 such households.

Since the roads here were damaged in the flood incident, the relief materials were distributed using bullock carts, shared Managing Director of Digicon Consultant Pvt Ltd, Ram Udar Yadav.

Digicon, in addition, provided relief materials to as many as 40 flood-hit survivors who were temporarily residing in makeshift tents at Hanumannagar Kankalani Municipality-2 in the district.

They were displaced after the flood from Mehuli River entered their villages.

Meanwhile, another social organization- Bhairochana Foundation Kathmandu- also provided relief assistance to the flood-survivors of Sakarapur village in the district who have been rendered homeless following the flood incident in their locality some two weeks ago.

The Foundation distributed 3,000 kilogrammes of rice, 200 kilogrammes of lentils, 200 litres edible oil, 50 kilogrammes of salt and 50 kilogrammes of soybean to 982 such households.

The flood survivors here are also living in the makeshift tents since they were displaced by the flood.
