5-year-old girl drowns in pond at Chandragiri

Kathmandu, March 16 — A 5-year-old girl drowned in a pond this morning at Chandragiri, Kathmandu.

The deceased has been identified as Purnima Thapa.

Thapa, originally from Kalimati Rural Municipality Ward No. 4 in Salyan, was living in Chandragiri Municipality-8.

She drowned in a pond that was created in an under-construction park.

She was rushed to the Armed Police Force (APF) Hospital in Balambu, where she passed away during treatment, as informed by SP Apil Bohara of the Kathmandu District Police Office.

The pond was created in a public park, and after filling it with water, the girl drowned while playing there.
