NC candidate elected mayor in Solududhkunda

Solukhumbu - Nepali Congress' Namgel Jangbu Sherpa has been elected the mayor of the Solududhkunda municipality, the one and only of Solukhumbu.
In the second phase of the local level elections held here, CPN (UML) candidate Kalpana Rai was elected as the deputy mayor.
Sherpa garnered 2751 votes against 2601 votes obtained by his closest contender, Ang Jhalak Sherpa, of the UML.
Deputy Mayor elect Rai garnered 2760 votes against 2717 votes obtained by her closest rival from Nepali Congress, Chindilamu Sherpa.
