Three water-caused fatalities in Jhapa

Damak - Two people were swept away by the same river and one drowned in a water-filled pit in Jhapa Saturday.

Binda Kumari Magar, aged around 47, of Gaurigunj Rural Municipality-1 was swept away by the swollen Mai River as she was on the way to her home from the local market.

Likewise, Dipesh Rai, 14, of Jhiljhile of Shibasatachhi Municipality-8 drowned in a water pit near his house while Yadav Pokhrel of Hawaldarbasti of Jhapa Rural Municipality-2 was washed away by the Mai River, the District Police Office, Jhapa confirmed.
