KMC preparing volunteers to respond to natural disaster

Kathmandu–The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is preparing a base for skilled human resource to reduce risks resulting from natural disaster. 


The KMC is preparing volunteers in its each ward to respond to the disaster. In the first phase, the human resource will be prepared to rescue people from disasters and douse fire. 


As many as 40 volunteers would be prepared in each ward by equipping them with proper training and instruments, said KMC Spokesperson Ishwar Man Dangol. There would be 33 per cent women participation in each team, he added. 
Such trained personnel would immediately reach to the disaster-hit site for effective response as per the need.
