Jumla–A person of Sinja rural municipality-6 died due to freezing cold while his brother fell unconscious.
The deceased has been identified as Shiva Chandra Budha, 27. Similarly, Banche Budha, who fell unconscious due to the freezing cold following snowfall, was rescued.
The two brothers fell unconscious after snowfall occurred all of sudden when they were heading towards Sinja village from Patarasi rural municipality of Jumla via Danfe mountain pass after buying blankets. Although Banche was rescued on Tuesday evening, the body of his brother Shiva Chandra was found on Wednesday afternoon.
Last rites of the deceased were performed at the incident site, saying it was difficult to take the body to the home as the incident site witnessed more than two feet snowfall.
Police Inspector Prakash KC said that investigation into the case was underway after the police was not informed about the incident on time as well as the last rites of the deceased were performed at the incident site.
Normal life of Jumla has been adversely affected due to cold following heavy snowfall.
