Rare species of python found in Bedkot's field

Kanchanpur - A rare species of python facing an existential threat has been found at Muspani area of Bedkot municipality – 6 in Kanchanpur.

The python weighing 500 gram and 10 feet in length was found on Tuesday at a field belonging to Laptan Chaudhary. The locals informed the District Forest Office after spotting the python.

The python was rescued and handed over to the Shuklaphanta National Park, Forest Office Kanchanpur's Chief, Shiva Sharma said.

Woman dies from snakebite

Meanwhile, 55 – year – old Sakuntala Tamata died in course of treatment on Tuesday evening after getting bitten by a snake.

Tamata, a native of Bhimdattanagar – 6, was admitted to the Mahakali Zonal Hospital for treatment on Monday and later referred to the Seti Zonal Hospital in Dhangadi where she breathed her last, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhim Bahadur Dahal of District Police Office, Kanchanpur.
