Campus administration office padlocked after BSC student's death

Bhimdattanagar - CPN (Maoist Centre) aligned All Nepal National Independent Students Union – ANNISU (R) – on Tuesday padlocked the Siddhanath Science Campus's administration office to demand a probe into death of a student.

The student union has termed the death of Dambar Jagri – a student studying in BSC Fourth Year – at the students' residence within the campus premises on Saturday morning as a murder. The administration was shutdown to mount pressure for launching a fact finding investigation and action against the perpetrator, Revolutionary's District Chairman, Birendra Raj Bista said.

Bista has claimed the murder was pre-mediated. He has vowed to continue to create pressure until an investigation is launched into the student's murder.

Jagri, who is ANNISU (R) district committee member and former Chairman of Siddhanath Science Campus Unit Committee, was found dead with a slit throat on Saturday morning at the students' residence.

The District Police Office, Kanchanpur is using polygraph test along with police canines in the investigation. Jagri's body was cremated at the Mahakali river on Monday.
