Road Division Bharatpur Terminates Contract with Shivashakti Infra Developers

Chitwan. Road Division Bharatpur has terminated the contract of Makwanpur-based Shivashakti Infra Developers Pvt. Ltd. for leaving the construction work unfinished.

The office has ended the contract citing failure to complete the work within the stipulated deadline as per the agreement and leaving the construction site unfinished for a long time.

The Division informed about the termination of the contract through a public notice on Monday. The company was awarded the contract for the repair and overlay of the road from Lothar to Tikouli under the East-West Highway (MRM) in Chitwan. The notice states that despite repeated written and verbal requests from the office to complete the work as per the agreement, the company did not fulfill its obligations.

Earlier, on Poush 20, 2079, the Road Division had sought a three-day explanation as to why the contract should not be terminated. The office stated that a satisfactory response was not received from the construction entrepreneur within the stipulated period. Concluding that a situation has arisen where the contract cannot be completed by the construction entrepreneur themselves, the contract was terminated on Shrawan 8, in accordance with sub-sections 2 and 7 of section 59 of the Public Procurement Act, 2063.

The Road Division has clarified that further legal action will be taken against the company as per the law following the termination of the contract. The notice issued by the office has directed to
