Agriculture and Forestry University to Enroll Foreign Students

Chitwan. Agriculture and Forestry University located in Chitwan has moved forward with preparations to enroll foreign students. Final preparations are underway to enroll foreign students at the undergraduate level as admissions are expected to open this week.

The university has stated that it is preparing to issue a notice for admission after making a final policy decision. The university's Planning Director Ramhari Timilsina said that although discussions on enrolling foreign students have reached the final stage, a decision has not yet been made. He informed that discussions are ongoing with stakeholders for all preparations and management from a policy perspective before the admission notice is issued.

"For any university to be internationally accredited, it is necessary to have foreign students studying. Since the study of foreign students is an important basis among various criteria for making the university international, discussions have been initiated to enroll foreign students," said Planning Director Timilsina.

Planning Director Timilsina informed that although Agriculture and Forestry University in Nepal has been conducting research programs for short durations and operating classes for the skill development of foreign students, it has not been conducting programs for study/research through student enrollment to obtain academic degrees.

The university has also prepared to enroll foreign students in undergraduate programs in Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary Science, and Fisheries Science. Informing that foreign students are being enrolled in four programs across three faculties, he stated that decisions on the number of students to be enrolled and the fees to be charged are yet to be made.
