5 Afghan Citizens Dead, 14 Missing While Crossing Desert to Iran

Afghanistan. Five Afghan citizens have died and 14 are missing while trying to enter Iran through the desert in Nimroz province in western Afghanistan. According to local media ToloNews, they were stranded in the desert while crossing the border.

Security forces have recovered the bodies of five people from the desert of Nimroz province. They were in a group of 19 people who were moving through the remote desert area spread across Helmand and Nimroz provinces with the aim of entering Iran.

According to local officials, it is estimated that the group may have become stranded after losing their way in the desert. It is suspected that they may have died due to extreme heat and lack of water.

Security forces are conducting a campaign to search for the 14 missing people. Officials said that rescue operations are ongoing.
