Nepali Congress Leader Expresses Deep Sorrow Over Passing of Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of civil society leader, former finance minister, and tireless warrior of the democratic movement, Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey. He stated in a message that he was deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Pandey's tragic passing on Friday evening.

Leader Angdembe mentioned that Dr. Pandey's contributions to the strengthening of democracy, civil liberties, human rights, good governance, transparency, and accountable governance in Nepal will always be remembered with respect in history. Angdembe stated that his leadership role from the side of civil society during the 2062/063 People's Movement and his fearless voice raised continuously against autocracy are invaluable assets to the democratic movement.

He also discussed that Dr. Pandey's contributions as Finance Secretary, Finance Minister, development thinker, and public intellectual have taken the discourse on Nepal's economic policy, public administration, good governance, and development to new heights. Leader Angdembe stated that with Dr. Pandey's passing, he feels the country has lost a sharp intellectual personality, moral leadership, and a firm advocate of democratic values.

Offering heartfelt tribute to the late Dr. Devendra Raj Pandey in this moment of grief, he prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul. He also expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives, and all those who held respect for him.
