Two held with illegal weapon, brown sugar in Siraha

Siraha. The District Police Office Siraha has taken two people into custody with a country-made pistol and a substance that looks like brown sugar from separate locations.

According to the first incident, on Wednesday evening, a police team from the Area Police Office Madar Siraha, while patrolling in Siraha Municipality-17, stopped Maheshkumar Thapa, 44, of Kamalamai Municipality-6, Sindhuli, who was coming from India to Nepal, on suspicion and checked him.

Upon checking, 9 grams of a substance that looks like brown sugar, excluding the plastic, was found in the left pocket of his pants. The police have taken both the substance and Thapa into custody and are conducting further investigation from the District Police Office Siraha.

Similarly, in the second incident, on Thursday morning, based on special information, a police team from the District Police Office Siraha stopped a motorcycle with BR07AG 4215 number coming towards Siraha bazaar via the inner road of the Hulasi road section in Siraha Municipality-7 on suspicion.

During the check, a weapon was found hidden inside a nylon bag hanging on the left handle of the motorcycle, among potatoes, onions, and jhinguni vegetables.

The police recovered one country-made pistol and two bullets from the bag. The driver, Roshankumar Yadav, 26, of Saharwa-8, Patbara, Ramnagar Gram Panchayat, Madhubani district, Bihar state, India, has been taken into police custody along with the weapon and motorcycle.

He has also been taken into custody and further investigation is underway from the District Police Office Siraha, informed Information Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Bahadur Pal.
