Phewa Lake Expands After Heavy Rainfall, Attracting Visitors Amidst New Challenges

Pokhara. After continuous rain, Phewa Lake has taken on a new and vast form. Due to the rising water level of the lake after a long period of rain, it gives the impression of having revived its historical natural shape.

The wetlands and surrounding fields and farmlands have been completely submerged due to the mud flowing from the source area of the lake. After the rain stopped, the surface of the lake appeared so calm and clear that the reflection of the surrounding hills and fog is clearly visible in the water.

Locals and tourists have started flocking to the Lakeside area to capture this enchanting scene and observe the changed form of the lake. However, the increased water level has also posed some challenges and serious questions.

The 'Jangi Pillars' installed by Pokhara Metropolitan City to demarcate the boundary of Phewa Lake and the area called 'Talghar' are also currently submerged in water.
