Chief Minister Dismisses Three Ministers and One State Minister from Sudurpashchim Province Government

Dhangadhi. After the budget dispute with the ruling party CPN-UML reached its peak, Sudurpashchim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah dismissed three ministers and one state minister from UML on Wednesday.

Those dismissed include Minister of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Bir Bahadur Thapa, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Hira Sarki, Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development Surendra Pal, and State Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development Nirmaladevi Saud.

Chief Minister Shah had returned to Dhangadhi from Kathmandu only on Wednesday after high-level discussions. However, high-level sources have stated that he decided to dismiss the UML ministers after failing to reach an agreement with UML on the issue of passing the budget.

There has been an intense dispute between the Nepali Congress and UML for several days regarding the Sudurpashchim Province Government's budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84. Despite repeated discussions to pass the budget, an agreement could not be reached.

The official letter of dismissal of ministers by Chief Minister Shah is yet to be made public.
