Prisoner Dies in Sleep at Khotang District Jail

Khotang. A prisoner serving his sentence at the Khotang District Jail has died in his sleep. Nisan Rai, 23, of Sakela Rural Municipality-4, Matim Parung, who was serving his sentence at the District Jail in Mudhe, Diktel, for a vehicle-related death case, has died.

Rai, who had dinner on the evening of Asar 30 and went to sleep, was found unconscious in the middle of the night, informed Kapindra Kathayat, the information officer of the jail. After being found unconscious, he was taken to the district hospital that night, and the hospital immediately declared him dead.

The hospital stated that the prisoner had already died by the time he was brought to the hospital, and Dr. Pushkal Rai of the hospital said,
