Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Returns to Field Operations, Clears New Road Parking

Kathmandu. The Metropolitan Police of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has started working in the field again regularly. After returning to duty, the Metropolitan Police conducted an operation on Wednesday to remove illegally parked vehicles in the New Road area.

According to the chief of the Metropolitan Police Force and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bishnu Prasad Joshi, apart from the reserve force, the metropolitan police are regularly deployed in the field. He stated that the Metropolitan Police will not shy away from its responsibility to maintain urban order.

For a few days, the Metropolitan Police were not actively deployed in the field after Ganesh Nepali of Mugu attempted self-immolation in front of the Department of Passports in Tripureshwor, and died during treatment. Following complaints that disorganized parking and footpath encroachment had increased since then, the Metropolitan City has deployed police again.
