Protest Programs Halted Following Agreement on Ganesh Nepali's Family Demands

Kathmandu. Following a 9-point agreement between the family of Mugu rider Ganesh Nepali, who died during treatment after attempting self-immolation, and the government, the Joint Political Dalit Struggle Committee has postponed its protest programs. 

Issuing a statement on Monday, committee coordinator Daljit Shripali informed that the protest programs organized at Maitighar Mandala at 1 PM on Asar 29 and the phase of giving a memorandum with an ultimatum to the Prime Minister of Nepal from all 77 district administrations on the same day have been postponed for now. 

The committee has demanded the speedy implementation of the 9-point agreement and strongly urged for the implementation in practice of structural discrimination faced by the Dalit community, inclusive proportional arrangements, and agreements, accords, and commitments made with the government so far.
