Newlywed Woman Found Dead in Rautahat; Investigation Launched

Rautahat. An investigation has been launched into whether the death of a newlywed woman in Baredwa, Katahariya Municipality-3, Rautahat, was a murder or suicide. According to police, Nisha Kumari Sah Sonar, about 20 years old, wife of Niraj Kumar Sah Sonar, a resident of Baredwa, Katahariya Municipality-3, was found hanging from a bamboo pole in her room with a sari noose on Saturday. A police team led by SI Lalbabu Sahani of the Area Police Office, Katahariya, reached the scene upon receiving information about the incident. The police stated that a team led by Inspector Pramod Khadka from the Area Police Office, Garuda, then collected evidence from the scene. The police reported that after completing legal procedures, the body was sent to the Provincial Hospital, Gaur, for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the father of the deceased, Rabindra Sah Sonar, a resident of Jathara village, Ishnath Municipality, has accused his daughter of being murdered. He claimed that the son-in-law Niraj Sah Sonar and his family members hanged the body to make it look like a suicide. He also alleged that the deceased's husband has fled the house after the incident. According to the deceased's father, Rabindra Sah, his daughter's marriage took place last February. He stated that since the marriage, his son-in-law has been mentally harassing and physically assaulting his daughter daily, demanding an AC, dowry money, and other things. Following the incident, locals and relatives of the deceased have demanded a fair investigation and strict legal action against the culprits. DSP Basanta Gautam, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Rautahat, stated that the actual cause of the incident will only be revealed after the post-mortem report and investigation. He informed that it is not possible to hold anyone guilty at present and that evidence is being collected and necessary investigations are being conducted from all sides.
