Landslide Blocks National Pride Project Road, Tourists Stranded

Baglung. The national pride project Saljhandi–Dhorpatan road has been obstructed by a landslide. The road has been completely obstructed by a landslide that fell from above the road at Phallegar in Dhorpatan Municipality–9, along the Burtibang–Dhorpatan road section, on Saturday morning.

Tourists who came to visit Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, Nepal's only hunting reserve, are stranded due to the obstruction of the road. Tourists who reached Dhorpatan on Friday evening have not been able to return, and tourists who went on vacation are stranded at Phallegar.

Efforts are underway to clear the road using machinery, informed Police Deputy Superintendent Rameshwar Twati, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Baglung. He said that many passengers are stranded on the road due to the obstruction.

Twati said, “The road has been obstructed since morning, it has not been cleared yet, and passengers going to and returning from Dhorpatan are in trouble due to the road not being cleared, however, machinery is being used to clear the road.” He urged tourists coming to visit Dhorpatan to come only after understanding the weather and road conditions. A crowd of tourists comes to Dhorpatan during this season.
