National Sports Council Distributes Sports Attire to Athletes and Coaches

Kathmandu. The National Sports Council (NSC) has provided sports attire to the athletes and coaches in special training for the national team under Mission-2026. Athletes and coaches in training for various 10 sports were distributed sports attire in a program on Friday. Athletes and coaches from Karate, Boxing, Women's Kabaddi, Women's Volleyball, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Judo, Wushu, Golf, and Athletics received the attire. NSC Vice-Chairman Bishal Shrestha, NSC Executive Committee Member Sikka Suwal Shrestha, and NSC Member Pawan Shahi distributed the attire to them. Speaking at the program, Vice-Chairman Shrestha said that starting special preparation training is a good initiative and it is time for the athletes to prove themselves in the Asian Games. Similarly, Executive Member Shrestha wished the athletes the best for excellent performance in the Asian Games. Karate athlete Erica Gurung, a record-breaking silver medalist in the Hangzhou Asiad, said that this training has added energy to the athletes and sparked new hope. Stating that the long-term training has made them feel comfortable, she clarified that they are ready for the Asian Games. Director of National Team Preparation Deepak Bista informed that attire has already been distributed to the athletes of Para Taekwondo, Para Swimming, Para Athletics, Para Badminton, and Para Powerlifting. The NSC had started special training for the national team under Mission-2026 from January 29, 2024 (Magh 15, 2080 BS) with the goal of achieving double-digit medals, including gold, in the 20th Asian Games to be held in Japan.
