RSS to Appoint Stringers and Photo Journalists Nationwide for FY 2083/84

Kathmandu. Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) is going to appoint local journalists (stringers) and photo journalists in districts and local levels across the country for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084.

Publishing a notice, the organization has sought one local journalist each in 74 districts outside the Kathmandu Valley.

Similarly, in the federal capital Kathmandu Valley, 6 local journalists and 4 photo journalists for Kathmandu, 2 journalists and 1 photo journalist for Lalitpur, and 1 journalist and 1 photo journalist for Bhaktapur will be appointed.

Likewise, 1 local journalist and 1 photo journalist each have been opened in the capitals of all seven provinces (Biratnagar, Janakpur, Hetauda, Pokhara, Deukhuri, Birendranagar, and Dadeldhura).

RSS has stated that it will adopt the principle of inclusion while appointing journalists. According to the notice, priority will be given to women, Madhesi, Dalit, minority, Janajati, and backward classes and communities. Furthermore, candidates proficient in multimedia will receive special priority.

Regarding qualifications, one must have passed the Proficiency Certificate Level (10+2) in journalism with at least 3 years of experience, or passed SLC/SEE with 5 years of experience, or passed Bachelor's or Master's level with at least one year of experience in journalism. It is also stipulated that the individual must not have been convicted of any criminal offense.

Interested candidates must submit an application specifying the district or provincial capital they wish to work in, along with a copy of their Nepali citizenship, educational qualifications, training and experience certificates, and personal details.

The deadline for application is within 7 days from the date of publication of this notice (2083/03/26), i.e., by the end of Ashad 2083.
