Health Minister Nisha Mehta Meets Norwegian Ambassador Dagny Mjos

Kathmandu. Health and Food Hygiene Minister Nisha Mehta held a courtesy meeting with Norway's Ambassador to Nepal, Dagny Mjos. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the long-standing friendly relations between Nepal and Norway and on making bilateral cooperation in the health sector more effective.

During the meeting, Minister Mehta praised the support provided by the Norwegian government in areas such as strengthening Nepal's health system, health information system, mental health, health education and research, maternal and child health, and women community health volunteer programs.

Minister Mehta stated that considering Nepal's needs and the increasing disease burden, the development of health infrastructure, digitization of health services, climate change and public health, strengthening non-communicable and mental health services, health tourism, and the herb sector are priorities for the government. She also expressed expectations for further cooperation with the Norwegian government in these priority areas.

In response, Ambassador Mjos expressed the commitment that the Norwegian government's support will continue in the coming days in areas including health, in line with the priorities of the Government of Nepal.
