One Dead in Koshi Rural Municipality Pickup Accident

Sunsari. One person has died in a vehicle (pickup) accident on the Mahendra Highway in Kerabari, Koshi Rural Municipality-8, last night.

The deceased has been identified as the vehicle's driver Padam Rai, 42, of Darbesha, Morang Rangeli Municipality-3, according to Sunsari Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandrabahadur Khadka. The empty pickup, registration number Pra 1-02-002 Cha 4831, coming from Bhantabari towards Laukahi, lost control and met with an accident on the road last night.

Driver Rai was seriously injured in the accident and brought to the District Hospital Inaruwa for treatment, where he died during treatment, informed DSP Khadka. Santoshkumar Sah, 37, a resident of Lahan Municipality, Siraha, living in Biratnagar-13, who was traveling in the pickup, was injured in the same accident.

His condition is normal and he is undergoing treatment, police said. Police said that an investigation is underway regarding the accident.
