Two Arrested in Sunsari with Pistol, Magazine, and Bullets

Sunsari. The District Police Office Sunsari has arrested two people with a pistol, magazine, and 3 rounds of bullets. A police team dispatched from the Temporary Police Post Chandbela took them into custody on Wednesday morning.

Police said that weapons were found when they checked two people walking on the road at Madheli Jhanda Chowk, Ward No. 01 of Gadhigaunpalika, Sunsari District, after becoming suspicious. Those arrested are Nur Mahamad, 51, of Rani Basti, Ward No. 17, Biratnagar Metropolitan City, Morang District, and Imran Khan alias Mo. Ahmedd, 32, of Ashok Chowk, Ward No. 08 of the same metropolitan city.

During the search, police recovered 1 pistol that looked like a Chinese pistol, 1 magazine for that pistol, and 3 rounds of bullets. Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka informed that both individuals arrested with weapons have been taken into custody and brought to the Area Police Office Duhabi for further investigation and necessary action.

During the preliminary investigation by the police, the old criminal background of the arrested persons has also been revealed. Accordingly, in the case of Nur Mahamad, it was found that he was released after serving 12 years in prison after a case of arms and ammunition and attempted rape was registered at the District Police Office Morang on Kartik 08, 2064 BS.

Similarly, in the case of Imran Khan alias Mo. Ahmedd, a record of a theft case at the District Police Office Morang on Poush 19, 2075 BS was found, according to a police statement.
