CPN-UML Demands Speaker Summon Prime Minister Balen Shah to Parliament

Kathmandu. CPN-UML has demanded that Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal summon Prime Minister Balen Shah to the House of Representatives through a ruling.

In the House of Representatives meeting on Wednesday, UML MP Rajendra Kumar Rai demanded a special ruling through the Speaker, stating that Prime Minister Shah is not accountable to the parliament and the opposition. Rai said that the Prime Minister should face the questions raised in the parliament and should take initiative to end the deadlock that has been going on for a month and a half.

MP Rai said that the opposition disagrees with the views expressed by the Prime Minister from the rostrum, and has been demanding clarification for weeks, but the Prime Minister has not appeared. 'The Prime Minister must come and give an answer, this house is for the representatives sent by the people, not for any social media,' he said, 'Let the Prime Minister be summoned to the house immediately through a ruling.'

During his address, MP Rai also expressed dissatisfaction with the Speaker regarding the issue of his microphone being cut off some time ago. Rai said, 'I have respect for the Speaker, but the people's representatives should be allowed to express their feelings and thoughts. The government should not go outside the law and procedure. The parliament can only move forward on the basis of dialogue and agreement,' Rai said.

MP Rai said that the protest and agitation will continue until the Prime Minister comes to the parliament and answers the questions of the opposition.
