2,076 Drivers Penalized for Traffic Violations in Kathmandu Valley in 24 Hours

Kathmandu. In the last 24 hours, two thousand and seventy-six drivers in Kathmandu Valley have been penalized for violating traffic rules.

According to the spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office and Police Superintendent Naresh Prasad Subedi, among those penalized, 68 were for driving under the influence of alcohol, 129 for illegal 'ride sharing', 126 for signal violations, and 189 for speeding.

Similarly, 139 were for not following 'lane' discipline, 124 for honking in prohibited areas, 85 for parking on roads and footpaths, 59 for one-way violations, and one thousand one hundred and fifty-seven for not following other traffic rules.

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has stated that a revenue of Rs 19,71,509 has been deposited into the state treasury from these fines and penalties.
