Five Arrested with Brown Sugar in Kavrepalanchok

Kavre. Five people have been arrested with brown sugar during a vehicle check at the police checkpoint in front of the Illaka Police Office Mangaltar, Roshi Rural Municipality-9, Kavrepalanchok.

On Asar 23, around 5 PM, a team led by a police inspector stopped and checked the electric car, Baagmati Province 01-034 Cha 6594, which was traveling from Bardibas to Kathmandu, after it appeared suspicious. During the check, among the five people traveling in the car, 20-year-old Ritu Jaisi, residing in Bhimeshwor Municipality-7, Dolakha district, was found to have 60.06 grams of brown sugar-like substance in a plastic bag and 56.75 grams excluding the plastic, from the left pocket of the jacket tied around her waist.

Subsequently, when drug and alcohol tests were conducted on all five people in the car, the reports of Sabin Koirala and Jagat Khatri came back positive.

All five individuals arrested with the drugs have been taken into custody and sent to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchok, for further investigation and necessary action, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
