Labor Culture Party Warns of Rebellion Against Rulers if Federalism is Tampered With

Kathmandu. The Labor Culture Party has warned that if federalism is tampered with in the name of constitutional amendment, there will be a rebellion against the rulers residing in Singha Durbar.

In the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, Labor Culture Party MP Aryan Rai accused the government of having the audacity to tamper with democracy, federalism, and secularism by abolishing provinces in the name of constitutional amendment.

He suggested that if the constitution is to be amended, it should be done in a way that increases the current provision of 33 percent mandatory representation for women to 50 percent. He stated that the rights of communities including indigenous peoples, Dalits, and Muslims should be ensured. He questioned Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal about the implementation of Rule 56 of the House of Representatives Regulations. He also questioned when the traitorous statement made by Prime Minister Balendra Shah would be corrected.
