Congress MP Thapaliya Highlights Border Issues Due to PM Shah's Statement

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Sita Thapaliya Urmila has stated that problems have arisen in the Nepal-India border area due to Prime Minister Balendra Shah's recent statement, and its direct impact has been felt at the Thori border crossing in Parsa.

Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, she said that the tourism business in Thori has collapsed due to the ban on the entry of Indian tourist vehicles at the Thori border crossing. 'Although there is a customs building at the Thori border, which has historical and tourist significance in Parsa, there are no employees. Due to its own administrative weaknesses, tourist vehicles have been stopped,' she said.

Thapaliya drew the serious attention of the Home Ministry to immediately resolve the problem at the Thori border crossing and arrange for necessary staff. She commented that the 100-day tenure of the Shah-led government has generated more disappointment than hope among the public.

Thapaliya accused the government of failing to implement its commitments to good governance and service delivery in practice. She stated that inflation has not been controlled in the government's 100 days, the problems of the landless have not been resolved, and the government does not appear serious about implementing the 10-point agreement reached with the 'GenZ' movement.
