Roads Blocked Across Nepal Due to Floods and Maintenance

Kathmandu. Main highways and road sections have been blocked due to floods, landslides in various parts of the country and road maintenance. As of 8 AM on Monday, vehicular movement has been affected on various roads in Kosi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces. The road is completely affected in Kavrepalanchok and Makwanpur within the Bagmati Province. Due to the risk of potential floods, the BP Highway road section from Khurkot-Nepalethok-Katuñjebesi in Kavrepalanchok has been stopped for all vehicular movement since Jestha 22. Similarly, the Kulekhani-Phakhel-Humane-Pharping-Kathmandu road section in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-2 and 4, Mahalakshmi in Makwanpur is completely blocked. Due to road maintenance work, the said road, which has been closed since Jestha 15, will remain closed until the 25th of this month. Meanwhile, in Rukum Paschim of Karnali Province, the flood on Ashad 17 has completely obstructed the Bheri Corridor at Rijegard Khola in Athbiskot Municipality-6. In Gandaki Province, landslides in two districts on Ashad 21 have affected transportation. The Bhangra-Thapthana internal road in Phalebas Municipality-9, Uleri, Parbat is completely blocked due to landslides. However, the Balung-Huwas internal road in Waling Municipality-14, Dumribhangjyang, Syangja has been made one-way after clearing the landslide. In Lumbini Province, the landslide in Khoralawang, Parivartan Rural Municipality-1, Rolpa on Ashad 20 has affected the Ghhorahi-Rukum Shahid Marg, but the road is currently open one-way. Similarly, the Mid-Hill Highway, blocked by floods in Bokhim, Bhojpur Municipality-5, Kosi Province on Baishak 12, has also come into operation one-way. Passengers for the said destination can also use another alternative route.
