Six Nepali Students Depart for 67th International Mathematical Olympiad in China

Kathmandu. 67th International Mathematical Olympiad for 6 Nepali students have departed for China. This year, 6 students selected to represent Nepal in the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad 2026 to be held in Shanghai, China, left for China yesterday, Saturday.

Mathematical Association of Nepal has selected 6 students after a multi-stage selection and special training conducted at the district, provincial, and national levels across the country. This year's selected competitors include Mission Joshi, Yugantar Kalakheti, Prasiddha Thapa, Aayam Acharya, Arija Pokharel, and Nishan Khatri.

According to Hari Prapanna Kandel, Chairman and leader of the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad Nepal's International Mathematical Olympiad 2026 team, this competition has been operating in accordance with the government's National Procedure for STEM Development-2082 and its report will also be submitted to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Kandel stated that this program, which has been operating for more than a decade, has played a significant role in developing the logical ability, creative thinking, and international competitive ability of Nepali students.

This year's Nepali team includes Deputy Leader Narayan Poudel, Coordinator Chhavi Dhungana, and Chief Coach Prajit Adhikari.
