Youth Arrested in Biratnagar for brandishing fake weapon during Muharram

Morang. A youth who terrified and panicked the general public by carrying a fake weapon while celebrating the Muharram festival in Biratnagar has been arrested by the police.

The police have taken Mo. Izrail, 23, residing in Biratnagar Metropolitan City Ward No.-9, Morang District, under control with the fake weapon.

On June 27, during the celebration of the Muharram festival by the Muslim community, a video of the youth walking around with a fake weapon went viral on social media. After the video became public, the District Police Office, Morang, and its subordinate police units started a widespread search.

During the search, on June 29, at around 9:40 PM, the police succeeded in taking Izrail under control with the said fake weapon from his residence. According to Makendra Kumar Mishra, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Morang, further investigation is being carried out with the arrested youth at the District Police Office Morang.
