Helambu's New Tourist Destination Chhadi Ghyang Promoted

Kathmandu. A tourist destination that has recently come into discussion is Helambu. The 'Helambu Himalayan Great Trail' being constructed here is also attracting tourists. Besides this, there are many religious (cultural and tourist attractions in this area. The stupas built in various places, green forests, Himalayan winds, and snow-capped mountains make travelers experience something new at every step.

Chhadi Ghyang has been added as a new tourist destination in Helambu. One can reach Chhadi Ghyang via Melamchi from Kathmandu. This place falls in Helambu Rural Municipality.

At the end of the last Jestha, a team from Kathmandu went there for the promotion of tourism including Chhadi Ghyang and Helambu Himalayan Great Trail. We reached Chhadi Ghyang via Melamchi from Kathmandu. The trek on the Helambu Himalayan Great Trail, which has been constructed for seven kilometers so far, was exciting.

After some time, the path turned uphill towards the forest. This area, which falls within the Langtang National Park, is covered by dense forests. Various species of colorful flowers welcomed us on the way. Walking while playing hide-and-seek among the rhododendrons and colorful alpine flowers blooming on the hills and forests was a very exciting experience. The Helambu Trail is an excellent destination to connect life with nature, peace, and spiritual experience, even if only for a few moments. Where every view adds energy.

Upon reaching Sagbari, we were severely hit by rain and hail. After about 9 hours of trekking, we reached Tharepati. There are good hotels for staying in Tharepati. The famous Gosainkunda can also be reached from this place. After about 2 more hours of travel from Tharepati, we reach Chhadi Ghyang.

Helambu Rural Municipality also held an executive meeting at the foot of Chhadi Ghyang, a new tourist area at an altitude of 4200 meters above sea level, on Jestha 24, 2083. According to the Rural Municipality Chairman Nimagyaljen Sherpa, the meeting discussed domestic tourism promotion, mitigation of climate change impacts, conservation of glaciers and Himalayan ecosystems, and sustainable development.

He said that the meeting also made various policy decisions for the conservation of natural and cultural heritage and tourism development. He said, 'There are still many beautiful destinations in Helambu, which can be developed properly to promote domestic and international tourism.'
