Royal Cottage Fined Rs 50,000 for Food Hygiene Violation

A few days ago, while the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) was in the process of its general convention, the issue of Home Minister Suden Gurung and his team finding a fish bone in an omelet at a hotel in Chitwan had not yet subsided when another similar incident has come to light in West Nawalparasi.

Royal Cottage Pvt. Ltd. located in Chisapani, Bardaghat Municipality-2, West Nawalparasi, has been fined Rs 50,000 for violating food hygiene standards.

According to the District Administration Office, a team led by Assistant Chief District Officer Poshanraj Bhandari had gone to eat at the hotel yesterday during the monitoring for the declaration of a child-friendly local level. During the meal, a worm was found in the greens, and the incident was reported.

Subsequently, a joint monitoring team from the District Administration Office, Cottage and Small Industry Office, and other bodies conducted an inspection of the hotel. The administration stated that during the inspection, the food items being used in the hotel and the prepared dishes were found to be unhygienic and non-compliant with standards.

The District Administration Office has stated that Royal Cottage Pvt. Ltd. has been fined Rs 50,000, concluding that it did not comply with food hygiene standards.
