Rastriya Swatantra Party National Convention: Five Contenders for One General Secretary Post

Chitwan. Five contenders have emerged for one general secretary post to be elected in Rastriya Swatantra Party. Candidates for central office bearers have entered the field after the election of central members currently underway in Chitwan.

As one of the two general secretary posts will be nominated, five leaders have started claiming the other post. Among them, current General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti, Shishir Khanal, Bipin Acharya, Ganesh Parajuli, and Manish Jha are seeking votes as contenders for the general secretary position.

Similarly, Birajbhakta Shrestha, Toshima Karki, Sobita Gautam, and Lima Adhikari are seen as contenders for two deputy chairman posts. For the three general secretaries to be elected, Yagyamani Neupane, Sagar Dhakal, Ramesh Prasai, and Dr. Ankita Yadav have put themselves forward as contenders.

The remaining posts in the 19-member central executive committee of Rastriya Swatantra Party will be nominated by the chairman. It is said that discussions are ongoing among the leadership to select the elected central office bearers through consensus. Leaders have stated that if consensus is not reached, going to the voting process remains the final option.
