Motorcycle Accident Kills One, Injures Another in Rautahat

Rautahat. One youth has died and another has been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident after hitting a goat in Gujara Municipality, Rautahat.

On Wednesday evening around 7:05 PM, a motorcycle numbered Ba 93 Pa 7588, traveling from Kanakpur to Hariharpur, hit a goat on the inner road section in Hariharpur of Gujara Municipality-5. The goat died on the spot due to the accident, police said.

In the accident, the motorcycle driver, 23-year-old Amod Chaudhary, a resident of Chandrapur Municipality-5, and the pillion rider, 24-year-old Dipesh Chaudhary of the same place, were seriously injured. Both were immediately sent to Chandrapur Hospital, Chapur for treatment.

During treatment at the hospital, doctors declared Dipesh Chaudhary dead at 7:55 PM last night, said District Police Spokesperson DSP Basanta Gautam. The driver, Amod Chaudhary, sustained injuries to his head and various parts of his body and is undergoing treatment, police said.

The body of the deceased Chaudhary has been kept at the hospital for post-mortem. The motorcycle involved in the accident is under the control of the Harinagar Area Police Post.

As soon as information about the incident was received, a police team under the command of ASI Rameshwar Mahato was deployed to the scene. Further investigation into the incident is underway, informed the District Police Office, Rautahat.
