Jhapa Branches Distribute Chemical Fertilizers to Farmers via Cooperatives and Farms

Jhapa. Salt Trading Corporation Limited and Agricultural Materials Company's Jhapa branches have stated that they are selling chemical fertilizers to farmers through cooperatives and agricultural farms in the district.

Vishnu Neupane, chief of the corporation's Jhapa branch, said that a total of 708.5 metric tons of chemical fertilizers have been brought for sale and distribution in the current fiscal year 2082/83. This includes 172.50 metric tons of urea, 226 metric tons of DAP, and 410 metric tons of potash.

He said that 151 agricultural cooperatives and farms in the district have been selected to provide easy access to fertilizers for farmers, and fertilizers are being actively distributed to farmers through these organizations.

According to the details so far, 42 metric tons of urea, 62.30 metric tons of DAP, and 5.75 metric tons of potash have already been sold. Meanwhile, along with Salt Trading Corporation, fertilizers have also been sent to 15 local levels in the district from the Agricultural Materials Company Limited, Birtamod branch.

The company has stated that 46 metric tons of chemical fertilizers have been provided this week for Gauradaha Municipality, Buddhashanti Rural Municipality, and Kachankawal Rural Municipality.

The said fertilizers are sold to farmers through cooperatives and farms. With the start of paddy transplantation, farmers primarily need urea, DAP, and potash fertilizers.
