Rastriya Swatantra Party Holds First National Convention

Kathmandu. The first national convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has started about four years after the party was formed. 

The convention was jointly inaugurated by party chairman Rabi Lamichhane and senior leader Balendra (Balen) Shah, who is also the Prime Minister, by ringing a bell on a stage prepared at the open ground of the Industry Commerce Association in Bharatpur, Chitwan on Sunday. 

More than 4,200 representatives of RSP have participated in the convention.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa, Nepali Communist Party (NCP) leader Barshaman Pun, NCP-UML leader Pradip Gyawali, JSP Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav, Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden have reached the convention to wish it well.

The convention, which will run for three days, will select new policies and leadership.
