Rastriya Swatantra Party Holds First National Convention in Chitwan

Chitwan. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)'s first national convention is grandly starting tomorrow, Sunday, at the Industrial Exhibition Center in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

On the eve of the convention, final preparations for the convention venue were intensified throughout Saturday.

The Central Election Commission has stated that all technical and administrative preparations required for the convention have been completed. Arrangements for the arrival and accommodation of convention representatives elected from across the country have also been completed today.

Meanwhile, the party's Election Commission has published the schedule. The RSP Central Election Commission has published a detailed schedule for the selection of new leadership during the convention.

The preliminary list of convention representatives will be published on the party's website tonight at 8:30 PM. Time has been given until tomorrow morning for claims and objections regarding the list. Similarly, distribution of forms for candidacy will start tomorrow at 1:00 PM, and nomination papers will be registered from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The time for making claims and objections against the candidates has been set from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Those wishing to withdraw their candidacy will have time until 8:15 PM tonight. The Election Commission has stated that the final list of candidates will be published tomorrow night at 11:00 PM.

The first phase of voting (for party president and central members) will be held the day after tomorrow from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The schedule states that the counting of votes will begin and the results will be announced within 2 hours of the completion of voting.

In view of the convention, security arrangements in Chitwan have been tightened, and the Bharatpur area is decorated with party flags and the election symbol 'Bell'. Top leaders including party president Rabi Lamichhane have already reached Chitwan today.

The convention is expected to determine the party's new policies and leadership and set the future political direction. The Election Commission has mentioned that the second phase of candidacy and further election programs will be published later as needed.
