Rastriya Swatantra Party Convention: Chitwan Police Tighten Security

Chitwan. The Chitwan District Police Office has stated that security arrangements have been tightened as the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is nearing. According to Chitwan District Police Chief SP Rameshwar Poudel, all preparations for the security and traffic management of the convention venue have been completed.

SP Poudel said, 'We have established a security system including civil and traffic police. A robust parking system has also been arranged.' Specifically, vehicles coming from the west and Pokhara will be parked behind Birendra Campus and on the side of Degree Campus, which has a capacity to accommodate about a thousand vehicles. Similarly, parking arrangements have also been made at Paras Buspark and other areas for vehicles coming from the east.

SP Poudel clarified that traffic management has been done in a way that does not affect the general public. 'We have managed traffic in such a way that the highways do not get jammed,' he said. Shuttle buses have also been arranged to go from the parking lot to the program venue, which will transport people to the venue.

Considering the possibility of a large crowd, the police are preparing to stop vehicle entry from six locations. These include Malpot Chowk, Government Hospital Gate, the road leading to the Agriculture Knowledge Center, and Chaubiskothi. SP Poudel said, 'We will not stop essential vehicles, but if there is a large crowd, we will divert some routes.'

He informed that strict security arrangements have been made as per security protocols, keeping in mind the presence of the Prime Minister, ministers, and other VIPs. SP Poudel has urged the general public not to take out their vehicles unless absolutely necessary and to park only in designated areas. He said, 'We appeal to the general public to cooperate with traffic management.'

This convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party is about to be held in Chitwan with the presence of a large number of representatives and leaders. The police have stated that all mechanisms are on standby to ensure that no untoward incident occurs for security.
