National Assembly Meeting Postponed Until June 25

Kathmandu. The National Assembly meeting has been postponed until June 25. Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal has postponed the meeting until 1:15 PM on June 25.

Earlier, the House of Representatives meeting, which was held today, was also postponed until June 25. The House of Representatives meeting was postponed targeting the first general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which has a comfortable majority. The first general convention of RSP is scheduled to be held in Chitwan from June 21 to June 23. 

However, the National Assembly, which does not have any RSP MPs, has also been postponed until the same date. There is a legal provision that no house of the Federal Parliament shall operate without the presence of a minister. Currently, there is only one minister in the government other than RSP. That minister is Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Mahabir Pun. The meeting has been postponed saying that it would not be practical for Pun, who is the only one to attend every meeting, to be present.
