Rastriya Prajatantra Party MP Khusbu Oli Criticizes Government Activities

Kathmandu. Rastriya Prajatantra Party MP Khusbu Oli has said that the recent activities of the government have raised serious questions about the country's constitutional dignity, sovereignty, and institutional stability. Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Friday, MP Oli objected to the working style of the Prime Minister's Office. 

Oli demanded an explanation from the government, citing news that advisors and aides of the Prime Minister's Office had kept officials of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority under control for about 9 hours and pressured them to take steps in their favor. "If this news is true, it is a direct interference in the independence of a constitutional body," she said. 

Her statement was that the news of mistreatment of foreign ambassadors at the Prime Minister's Office has tarnished Nepal's image and credibility in the international community. Oli said that the behavior that questioned the dignity of the representatives of diplomatic missions has weakened Nepal's diplomatic culture. 

MP Oli also refuted the statement made by Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal that there were only 7 Nepali women in Kuwait's Safar Jail. Citing an example of a Nepali sister who returned from the same jail just 24 hours ago, she said, "The Foreign Minister has taken the suffering of many Nepali women lightly by relying only on his embassy's report. The truth is very bitter and serious, we have proof that many women are in jail, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should investigate this seriously."
