National Assembly Whip Roshani Meche Demands Permanent Armed Police Camp in Susta

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) National Assembly Whip Roshani Meche has demanded that the government arrange for a permanent border security camp of the Armed Police Force in the Susta area. Speaking at the National Assembly meeting on Monday, she emphasized that the government must take immediate steps to protect Nepali territory. She expressed objection to the Indian border security forces patrolling the Susta area following a statement by Prime Minister Balendra Shah. She stated that the government should immediately establish a permanent camp of the Armed Police Force to protect the land and defend Nepali territory. Speaking in the meeting, MP Meche strongly objected to Prime Minister Shah's statement that Nepal has encroached upon a lot of Indian land and cautioned him to apologize immediately. Drawing the government's attention to the border issue in Susta and permanent security arrangements, she said, 'Considering the Treaty of Sugauli as an irrefutable legal basis, when will diplomatic talks begin with the Indian government to immediately erect permanent border pillars based on the map located in the lost 24 kilometers of land in Susta? In view of the border infiltration incident of Jestha 29, arrange for a permanent patrol of the Armed Police Force 24 hours a day in the 24-kilometer open border area of Susta.' Whip Meche also seriously drew the government's attention to advancing the work of permanently constructing border pillars in the Susta border area.
