India to Send Politically Appointed Ambassador to Nepal

Kathmandu. India is going to send an ambassador to Nepal through political appointment.

India has started preparations to send another ambassador as the tenure of the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, is about to end. Previously, India used to send career diplomats, i.e., employees of the Ministry of External Affairs, as ambassadors. Now, it is going to send one based on political appointment, sources have informed. Bangladesh also sends ambassadors to Nepal through political appointment. Nepal also sends ambassadors to India through political appointment. It has not yet been revealed who India will give the responsibility of Ambassador to Nepal.
